Snowmobile tours for people who came here for the real thing
This is our most popular tour, and the one we’d send a friend on if they were visiting for the first time. Three hours, small group, daytime light, real Lapland terrain — and the kind of ride where you actually get to feel the snowmobile under you, not just sit in a line of twenty.
We start from our base in Sinettä, 20 minutes north of Rovaniemi. It’s a small village surrounded by the kind of forest, lakes, rivers and hills that most tours never reach. If you’ve already been on a snowmobile somewhere closer to the city centre, you’ll notice the difference within the first kilometre: fewer tracks, more space, and trails that actually go somewhere. And hardly anyone else but us out there.
What the day looks like
Every tour begins with a proper briefing — what the weather and conditions look like today, how the snowmobiles work, how we ride together as a group, and how we communicate on the trail. Then we get going. The first stretch is the training session, but you’re already riding — we start slow, make sure everyone feels comfortable on the machine, and pick up the pace as the group settles in.
From there we ride a mix of terrain: forest trails winding between snow-loaded spruce, open sections across frozen lakes, climbs up to viewpoints, and softer snow where it’s safe to play a little. We stop along the way for photos, a hot drink, and whatever the day happens to offer — snow, scenery, animal tracks, sometimes a reindeer in the distance.
If you’re two on a double snowmobile, you can switch drivers at the breaks. If you’d rather have your own machine the whole way, that works too for a supplement of 60€ per person, if availability allows. Kids and anyone under 140 cm ride in the covered sledge behind the guide.
Why this tour, and why us
Usually 4–6 snowmobiles in the group. If you can see twenty other snowmobiles in front, you aren’t with us.
Our guides aren’t reading from a script. Most of them have been riding these forests since they were kids and instructing for decades — the kind of quiet competence that means you can relax and just enjoy the ride. They take photos and short videos along the way and send the whole batch to the group by email after the tour. No upsell, no “premium photo package”.
The snowmobiles are BRP Lynx, built in a modern factory 20 minutes from where we ride. They’re the machines locals actually choose for this terrain.
