About PolarMax

I wish you could
see this.

So many times, I've had the same thought on top of a fell, on a frozen lake, or somewhere deep in a snowy forest: I wish you could see this. Feel this. Experience this.

We're a small family business in Sinettä, twenty minutes north of Rovaniemi. We take small groups out into the kind of Lapland most visitors never reach: quiet forests, open lakes, hills with views that go on forever. There's speed and adrenaline, and there's silence. Both are part of it.

We don't run convoys and we don't rush. We'd rather you leave feeling like you went out with friends who happen to know every trail — and that you saw, felt and experienced it yourself.

It's all about nature.

Camping, hiking, skiing, biking, motorcycles, snowmobiles... we have done it all. They have one thing in common: in the end, they are all ways to get out and explore the nature around us. We took it further — guiding and teaching others, privately and through earlier companies, leading to journeys across Scandinavia and Europe.

Snowmobiles can do things you could otherwise only dream about. In one day, you can cover vast areas, from the deep forests and lakes up to the hills with views all the way to the horizon. The early explorers would be amazed. We want to make this possible for our guests and friends too.

Largest wilderness areas in Europe

Northern Scandinavia, Lapland, has some of the largest wilderness areas left in Europe. In Finnish Lapland, there are fewer than two people per square kilometre. Sometimes it's just us out there.

4 seasons – 4 opposites

In December, Rovaniemi gets about two and a half hours of daylight. From early June to early July, the sun does not set at all. Winter days of −20 °C, summer days of +20 °C. Snow stays from November to April.

Finnish culture

Finns are honest and straightforward. We say what we mean and we do what we promise. Finland has been ranked the happiest country in the world nine years in a row. Maybe we are just modest and settle for less. What you get is real however: this is how people are, this is how we live.

Sinettä is our home.

Sinettä is our home, not an office we drive to. We've spent our lives on these trails — riding, teaching, guiding, racing.

The crowded snowmobile tracks around Rovaniemi don't reach this far. Twenty minutes north, we ride routes most operators never use — through snowy forests, across frozen lakes and rivers, and up open hills.
