Twenty kilometres north of Rovaniemi, away from the tourist convoys, the trails belong to us. A small-group snowmobile safari through frozen lakes, snowy forests and open fells — guided by locals who know every bend in the trail.
The Wilderness Starts Here
Most snowmobile tours in Rovaniemi follow the same well-worn paths. We don’t.
Our base is in Sinettä — 20 kilometres north of the city, 20 minutes from the hotel strip, and a world away from the tourist convoys. From here, we ride into terrain that most visitors never see: narrow forest trails that open suddenly onto wide frozen lakes, river bends where the snow sits thick in the spruce branches, and hills with views that make you stop the engine just to take it all in.
This is a 3-hour small-group snowmobile safari for people who want the real thing.
What the Tour Looks Like
You arrive at our base in Sinettä at 10:00 — or we pick you up from Rovaniemi city centre 30 minutes before. After getting kitted out in gear, your guide walks you through the controls and takes you through a short practice run on our own track. No rush, no pressure.
Then we ride.
The route varies with conditions and the group, but expect winding forest paths, frozen lakes and rivers, open terrain with long sightlines north, and natural stops where the scenery earns it. Your guide coaches you as you go — posture, throttle control, how to read the trail ahead. By the end, people who arrived nervous are usually the ones who don’t want to stop.
Total driving time is approximately 2.5 hours. Snacks and hot drinks included on the trail. Back at base around 13:00–13:30.
Small Group. Private Trails. Your Pace.
We run a maximum of 6 snowmobiles per group — not because we have to, because it’s the only way this works properly.
A small group means your guide knows where everyone is at all times. The pace adapts to you, not to the slowest common denominator of a 20-machine convoy. When you stop for a photo, everyone stops. And the trails we ride aren’t shared with every other operator in Rovaniemi — we have our own routes, and that matters.
Who This Tour Is For
First-timers: Full driving instruction before departure, coaching on the trail. No experience needed — just a valid driving licence.
Couples and pairs: The most common combination we see. Both can drive — swap at break points along the way.
Anyone who’s done a tourist safari and wanted more: More distance, more varied terrain, further from the city, smaller group.
Not the right tour if you’re looking for a Northern Lights hunt — see our Evening Safari. For a full day in the wilderness — see our Full Day Safari.
